Which one should you get?
A DisplayPort monitor without adapters: the TS4
Its dedicated DisplayPort socket takes a DisplayPort cable directly; the OWC dock connects monitors through Thunderbolt/USB-C ports.
Faster wired network or more USB sockets: the TS4
It lists 2.5Gb Ethernet against Gigabit on the OWC, and eight dedicated 10Gb/s USB ports.
More Thunderbolt devices to chain: compare the OWC
It offers three downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports for drives and USB-C displays; the TS4 has two.
Limits of this comparison
- How many monitors work is set by your laptop, not the dock. Check your laptop’s limit first.
- No hands-on testing: speeds, heat and charging under load are not measured. Prices and availability are not tracked.
